Connecting to VPN
What is a VPN?
UCF utilizes a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to create an extra layer of security when dealing with sensitive information. Basically, it creates an encrypted connection directly to the UCF network, and any communication with UCF resources will go through this connection.
When do I use it?
You will need to connect to the VPN in the following situations:
- When you are working remotely (or whenever you are not on a UCF wired or wireless network).
- When you need to access a resource that requires a VPN connection, such as:
- SecretServer
- WordPress Admin Panel
- SSH or SFTP connection to a server
- Pushing, Pulling, or Cloning code to GitLab
